Although what you state makes perfect sense and is perhaps the fate of a certain percentage of humans, there is hope. Religious superstitions are losing their grip globally. Even in the U.S. each poll that attempts to quantify the portion of the population adhering to dogmatic beliefs are trending away from religion. The march of Human knowledge is having an impact. Too slow, but chipping away. The 'noise' in our culture that promotes the status quo makes it seem, at times, that no progress is being made. But I would contend that religious precepts are being screamed louder to try and block out what is increasingly obvious and annoyingly counter-supernatural. As for your central contention: There will always be a percentage of deniers of the obvious. As long as that percentage is diminishing, there is hope. I don't expect to see the big breakthrough to reason within my lifetime, but remain hopeful you may see it. Keep blogging. Your chipping away more than you know. I feel your pain. He tracks her down, leaves a document stating that he is her son's father. He goes on to promise that the son must believe and love him or he will torture him forever. Now the viewer must pick which plot to finish the movie: the son tries to comply with an entire book of sometimes disparate instructions despite his reason and justifiable proof /or/ the son rejects such blind faith and suffers unmentionable brutality at the hands of an obviously deranged man. Could that be structured in such a way that the absurdity of such a situation (and the obvious parallel) could not be possibly lost on anyone except the insane?
